Is the visa valid for the Czech Republic only?

No, the Embassy of the Czech Republic issues visas for the Czech Republic and for the other Schengen states. The Schengen visa gives access to 27 Schengen countries in total. However, the Schengen Visa application will only be accepted by the Czech Visa Application Centre if the Czech Republic is the country of maximum stay. Should the duration of the stay be the same in several Schengen States, the Czech Republic must then be the first point of entry.

Can I apply at the Czech Visa Application Centre if I want to go to any other Schengen countries? Can I arrange for bookings accordingly?

If you plan to apply for your Schengen visa at the Embassy of the Czech Republic, your main destination and the maximum period of stay in the Schengen area must be in the Czech Republic only. Please provide proof to support this information.

How can I apply for a multiple-entry visa?

An applicant requesting a multiple-entry visa has to prove a) The need to travel frequently and/or regularly, in particular due to his/her occupation or family status, such as business persons, civil servants engaged in regular official contacts with EU Member States and EU institutions, representatives of civil society organisations travelling for the purpose of educational training, seminars and conferences, family members of citizens of the European Union, family members of third-country nationals legally residing in EU Member States and seafarers; and b) his/her integrity and reliability, in particular the lawful use of previous Schengen visas or visas with limited territorial validity, his economic situation in the country of origin and his genuine intention to leave the territory of the EU Member States before the expiry of the visa applied for.

What are the applicable fees and how can I pay?

Every Visa application needs to be accompanied by a visa fee and service fee for the amount applicable to your chosen visa category. Fees can be paid by cash, debit/ credit card or through payment gateway or QR Code.

Will I get my visa at the end of the visa application process?

The Czech Republic Visa Application Centre will not be able to guarantee you a visa. The issuance or refusal of a visa is at the sole discretion of the Embassy of the Czech Republic. The Czech Republic Visa Application Centre cannot influence this decision in any way.

How early can I apply?

Applicants can apply up to 6 months to their travel date and no later than 15 calendar days.

What if I decide to withdraw my application?

We would like to inform you that your fees will not be refunded at any stage. If you wish to withdraw your application completely, please follow the same process but mention that you would like to withdraw your application completely.

Will my fees be refunded if my visa is refused?

No, all fees paid by the applicant/travel agents/representatives are non-refundable and will not be refunded if your visa application is rejected or cancelled by the Embassy/Consulate.

When can I reapply, is there a time frame after the refusal that I must wait before reapplying?

You are free to re-apply at any time if your application has been refused earlier. There is no time gap to be observed after a refusal (to make a fresh application). However, it is recommended that you note the reasons for the earlier refusal before submitting a new application and make amendments where applicable.

Can my application be processed on the same day that I submit it at the Czech Republic Visa Application Centre?

No, applications cannot be processed on the same day. Requests for Emergency visa processing cannot be accommodated except in an extreme medical circumstance and the Embassy’s decision on this is the final authority. In case the Visa Approval process takes longer than our customer service targets then it is stated that neither the Visa Application Centres nor the Embassy/Consulate shall be responsible in any manner whatsoever and the Applicant shall be the sole bearer of all risk and consequences.
